Salesforce, the global leader in CRM, today announced the appointment of Arun Kumar Parameswaran as Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Sales & Distribution, India.

Based in Bengaluru, Arun Kumar Parameswaran will lead the overall Sales and Distribution strategy for India and will report into Arundhati Bhattacharya, CEO and Chairperson, Salesforce India. Arun Kumar Parameswaran will officially join Salesforce in early May 2021.

Arun Kumar Parameswaran joins Salesforce with over 28 years of diverse and vast experience of working with customers across a broad spectrum of enterprise, commercial, public sector and SMB’s on their digital transformation journeys.

Customer base

Commenting on the appointment, Salesforce India CEO and Chariperson Arundhati Bhattacharya said India continues to be one of the fastest-growing regions for Salesforce.

“I am excited to welcome Arun Kumar Parameswaran on board to lead our sales team and support our growing customer base in India,” she said.

Expressing happiness over the appointment, Arun Kumar Parameswaran said he is excited to be joining Salesforce at such a pivotal time where customers in India are accelerating their digital journey.

Arun Kumar Parameswaran joins Salesforce from VMware, in his role as Vice President for the Enterprise business. Arun Kumar Parameswaran was leading the Strategic Pursuit Practice across the JAPAC region.

CRM software 

Prior to VMware, Arun Kumar Parameswaran worked in various leadership roles at Red Hat, Mastech/iGate, and Wipro Infotech.

The largest provider of customer relationship management (CRM) software forecast a weak FY22 EPS guidance for full-year as adjusted earnings per share between $3.39 and $3.41, below estimates of $3.49 per share.

While new emerging virus strains pose a new hurdle to business spending, Salesforce is also facing stiff competition from Microsoft Corp, which is ramping up its cloud-based offerings.

Revenue in the quarter ended January 31 rose to $5.82 billion from $4.85 billion a year earlier, driven by increased demand for its cloud-based software.
