Reinforcing his commitment to India, Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos shared a separate letter on the company’s commitment to India by addressing its customers, sellers and partners to announce the company’s grand pan to invest $1 billion, enable $10 billion in exports of Indian products and creation of 1 million jobs.

In a tweet, Amazon Global Senior Vice President and Country Head of Amazon India Amit Agarwal revealed the letter written by Jeff Bezos with a concluding rhetoric ‘It’s still day 1’.

“I am excited to share that we will invest an incremental $billion to digitise micro and medium industries I cities, towns and villages across India, helping them to reach more customers than ever before. As part of the initiative, we will use Amazone’s global footprint to enable $10 billion in exports Indian products to the rest of the world by 2025. Our investments India will create an additional1 million jobs across the country by 2025,” states Jeff Bezos in the letter.

The letter starts with the fact that over 5,50,000 small and medium businesses are using the Amazon.in marketplace to offer India’s largest selection of products.

“Karigar and Saheli have enabled a million artisans and women entrepreneurs to go online. More than 60,000 businesses are exporting ‘Make in India’ products globally, with cumulative exports exceeding$1 billion,” states Jeff Bezos.

Amazon CEO highlighted the fact that millions of Prime members across India enjoy unlimited free and fast delivery and ad-free online streaming of blockbuster movies and TV shows, including Amazon Originals such as Mirzapur and The Family Man.

Alexa can now speak in Hindi and English seamlessly, and offers more than 30,000 skills from practicing yoga to reciting Panchatantra stories, points out Amazon founder.

On the climate initiative and sustainable development initiative, he said Amazon has invested in sustainable growth and is the first company to sign th ecliamte pledge – with a commitment to meet Paris Accord 10 years early.

“In India, we have announced that we will eliminate single-use plastic from our fulfilment network by June 2020 and we are adding 10,000 electric rickshaws to our delivery fleet,” he said in the letter.

He concludes the letter with the fact he falls in love with India every time he return home. “The boundless evert, innovation, and grit of Indian people always inspire me,” states the richest man on earth.
