Hyderabad, NFAPost: Cricket in India had been largely confined to the laurels what the men’s team had achieved. The women’s team started grabbing eyeballs when they went on to reach the final of the World Cup in England. Although Mithali Raj-led team faltered in the final hurdle, it was enough to make a point on their performances in the highest degree of competition.
Since then Indian women’s cricket has been in the news. Getting a further boost Nita Ambani, the Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation and a strong proponent of women’s empowerment, announced her support for women’s cricket in India.
As the first step in this direction, Jio and Reliance Foundation Education and Sports For All (RF ESA) come in as sponsor for the upcoming Women’s T20 Challenge.
